DJ Scratch is back on a tour that many DJs wish they had skill and knowledge to join. The three time Grammy nominated DJ has announced he’s on the 4th annual 45 Vinyl record/ No Laptop tour. That’s right – no laptops, straight vinyl spinning.
Back in the day, almost all DJs spun with strictly 45-inch vinyls. Now, everything is done electronically, which has some benefits as well as disadvantages. DJ Scratch has brought it back. Scratch is touring major cities with DJ Pump, DJ Illo, Mat The Alien and Vinyl Richie.
Tonight, Scratch will hit Philly. Then he’s back in British Columbia, Victoria on February 25th.
DJ Scratch has also started up his own website called “ScratchVision” where you can sign up to follow old school vinyl spinning techniques.
Last week he posted a video of him cutting up “Dance to the Dummers Beat,” a record that he loved watching legend DJ Jazzy Jeff cut up.
As I do the last few beta tests for www.ScratchVision.com I started cutting up the record I always love to watch my Brother @djjazzyjeff cut up. The 1st time he did #ScratchVision my request was for him to cut "Dance To The Drummers Beat". The next time my request will be this. If you love this DJ shit like I do, then you need to sign up to www.ScratchVision.com before we start next month. #FunkyOverEverything #GoProMusic #DJScratch @djpremier #JayZ
