Today, the DJs do more than break artists and bring us new hits —  they’ve given us some of the best restaurants (Camilo’s Blend On The Water being one of our favorites), sneaker designs, health kicks, and have undoubtedly become the new purveyors of COOL.  It’s a fact; today’s DJs are racking in the big bucks!!  From sponsorships to business ventures, the vibe masters of today have redefined what it means to be a DJ.

So how does a DJ enjoy the fruits of his or her labor?   A plethora of vices exist within the culture…but one things for sure, jewelry is at the top of the list!

Whether it’s an everyday or special occasion piece, many of our favorite turntabalists have their staple pieces that we see them rockin’ often. Let’s take a look of some of our favorite joints!!

DJ Mustard  – 10 summers Chain

Mustard coined the term 10 Summers from the concept and passion to make hits for 10 Summers consecutively.  Originally the title of the hit-making producers debut album the term has evolved.  10 Summers is also the name of the producer/DJ’s record label!

Jermaine Dupri – So So Def Chain

If you aren’t familiar with the So So Def chain, you’ve obviously been a bit out of touch (or you just might be a little young to understand).  But that’s why we’re here, to catch you up to speed!  Established in 1993, So So Def Records has represented artists like Lil Bow Wow, Da Brat, Anthony Hamilton, Xscape and more!  Hence (when you watch the post below) the competitors in Dupri’s “The Rap Game” infatuation with the chain!  Let’s just say this staple piece speaks for itself.

DJ Envy – Cuban Link

Cuban links have always been popular in Hip-Hop, but we love how Envy adds his own twist!  It looks like he added a shark tooth to it and we’re feeling it!  It might be a little heavy, but hey, it comes with the territory.

DJ Camilo – Gold Daytona Rolex

We can’t all afford to buy a Rolex, but kudos to those that can!  Far from inexpensive, Rolex watches range anywhere from $1700 to over a million bucks (1942 Rolex Chronograph). Camilo’s Gold Daytona watch might be a bit pricey, but somethings just make sense to buy when you have it like that.  This piece is worth the investment!

Vashtie – Classic Name Plate Ring

If you grew up in the 80’s or 90’s …some even in the 00’s,  you might remember the popular name plate jewelry.  From hoop earrings to necklaces and rings, the custom pieces became a statement that most high school and college girls had to have.  Vashtie knows a little something about this.  She’s been spotted wearing her custom name ring multiple times!

DJ Khaled – We The Best Chain

We The Best Music has become a dominant force in the music industry, mainly in part for DJ Khaled’s monumental success and chart topping hit after hit!  Khaled knows what’s up.  More than a staple piece, this particular chain has manifested it self into the core of the entertainment industry as a reminder that barriers are nonexistent for today’s DJs!

Lil Jon – Crunk Aint Dead

Lil Jon, aka The King of Crunk, might be one of most energetic celebrity DJs we know of.  No one (outside of Steve Aoki) can turn up a party like him.  Crunk is more than just a term for getting hype, it’s a lifestyle!
