MARK RONSON GETS SLAMMED WITH A MEGA LAWSUIT OVER “UPTOWN FUNK” CLAIMING IT HAS TOO MUCH “BOUNCE”… YIKES!!
Mark Ronson is a musical genius. It’s no secret that his 2014 hit, “Uptown Funk” featuring Bruno Mars had record breaking numbers when it came to sales and streaming services. Three years later, Ronson is getting slammed with a mega lawsuit. According to the suit, Ronson TOTALLY ripped off Roger Troutman and Zapp’s funky single “More Bounce to the Ounce”.
Lastrada Entertainment is the company that owns the rights to Roger & Zapp’s “More Bounce to the Ounce” and and claims Uptown Funk is an identical copy, especially the first 48 seconds of More Bounce. According to TMZ, the suit cites verse by verse comparisons between the two, and we’re no lawyers but they do sound freakishly alike. You be the judge, listen to both below:
Lastrada is demanding an unspecified amount in damages along with ending future plays/sales on several streaming services including Spotify, Apple, Sony and more. What are your thoughts? Is this suit valid? Let us know in the comments below!
