Spotify has officially added a new update that will allow users to edit Metadata; in lamens terms — they’ll be able to edit song information! “The Line-In” initiative will help Spotify attain a vast knowledge of music by collecting information from subscribers. You’ll be able to do things like give your personal perspective on the mood of the song and genre!! Looks like this mega streaming company is on it’s way to becoming one of the most ingenious streaming companies of this generation!
“Listeners describe music in different ways, and understanding that information will help improve, extend, and confirm the information that describes music on Spotify,” a spokesperson recently told Variety. “We hope to better understand how Spotify listeners interpret music, so that we can improve experiences for both listeners and artists.”
Spotify has tactifully released the option for it’s users already. To choose the line-in option, click on the three dots next to the song, album or artist and then press “suggest an edit.” Once you’ve input the information, you must wait for the new information to be approved by Spotify.
“Spotify considers the source, and thoroughly reviews and checks the accuracy of this information, before the suggestions are folded into the data that powers our services,”
