Coachella is just 2 days away and many are salivating at the mouth for it to hurry up already. When people attend festivals like Coachella, they’re expectations is to have a great time, listen to your favorite musicians, and have fun with their friends in a huge party atmosphere.
Every now and again you hear about tragic accidents at these festivals due to drugs, but in this case it was a little different.
The parents of Micha’la Josephine Freeland are suing Coachella for the wrongful death of their daughter. Micha’la was hit by a Jeep Cherokee when she was crossing Avenue 52, Avenue 52 is an unpaved dirt road.
According to TMZ, she was on her way back to her camp and due to the festival not providing barricades, fences, warning signs, and other safety precautions. Freeland worked for the security employed by Coachella, wasn’t set to work that night but as per Freeland’s parents, the security personnel and their families were confirmed to travel to and from the festival on the Avenue 52 road.
The young woman’s parents are suing for damages for her death.
