The Roots, Usher, Common, and Kirk Franklin are set to perform at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama. The event is a two-day summit hosted by the Equal Justice Initiative.
The museum will be the first comprehensive memorial dedicated to the lynching of African Americans. It’ll feature 800 six-foot monuments that identify thousands of lynching victims from around the United States.
Featured speakers and performers confirmed for April 26th and 27th will be former Vice President Al Gore, U.S. Congressman John Lewis, legendary gospel singer Bebe Winans, movie director Ava DuVernay, and more.
For general entry tickets for the museum and memorial the cost will be between $5 and $10 each, the grand opening ceremony will cost $10, and the Peace and Justice Summit will cost $25.
