It’s with a heavy heart, we have to announce that Grammy Award winning Swedish EDM DJ Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii passes away at the tender age of 28.
Today, Avicii’s publicist confirms.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” his publicist Diana Baron said in a statement. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
His death is still unclear.
Avicii was transparent with his health issues for the past few years. He suffered with acute pancreatitis due to drinking over the years. He went through with gallbladder and appendix removal, and eventually retired from touring.
Avicii worked with someone talented DJ and musicians that expressed their loss.
This is such a huge loss for the music scene. Avicii took electronic music to new heights, and he did it in a way that was daring, never following the pack. Also, never boasting. His music spoke for him. Whether or not you considered yourself a fan, everyone had at least one song they liked!! I also wish more people were open to speak about the mental health and addiction issues that continue to affect our scene. Just because someone is successful doesn't mean they don't need help. Please take a moment to share some love today.
I was saving this for a rainy day, as a celebration, but the day has come and we mourn him. History, I was part of the history he made. The young and eager, musically gifted, shy, teenager that I got to know, and train in music. And today marks a dark day in the history of dance music. Something I saw and called a few years ago: He’d be the first to die a rockstar death in dance music. To be a young artist, sky rocketing to his heights, schedules and stress he did, is no joke. There’s many out there that struggle from stress and pressure. And stress is a killer. What we should learn is to signal it and to talk about it. And enjoy life, while we can. It’s so precious! Every single second you’re here is a blessing, because, before you know it, it’s gone. Thank you Avicii, Tim, for the music and incredible melodies. Songs that will touch our hearts and will unite us forever. May you get the calm you deserve. We’ll miss you ❤️ PS. Shout out to @mightyfools who are throwing in the towel today. They’ve been super open about it on their FB. This is what we need to be aware! And then possibly fix schedules, pressure, physical health and mental health! #RIPAvicii
Don't know what to say. It is a sad sad day!! Is it even appropriate to post about it – not sure if it is or isn't… We havent hung out for a while – too long, but the moments we had will forever be with us. Your talent was above the rest. So young and so brilliant. We feel incredibly privileged to have worked with you, raved with you. Its heartbreaking. At the very least your light shines on with all the incredible music you made and the people you touched along the way. Today the world lost one of the greatest! Rest in peace babe @avicii ?
You set the precedent for the rest of us producers . Opened doors and set the trends . The real groundbreaker and influencer to all my peers . You should have lived to be 100 but your music is gonna live forever . I'm not just saying that.. but you are the only one to always make timeless songs. You made me want try and make dance music cause you were the best of this generation . A real superstar ?
A great guy, great friend and great inspiration. Out of respect please don’t make this just another dot on your timeline, remember what he did for you, what his music ment to you, and how his inspiration guided you. He is one of the nicest guys I ever met and he deserves more than just three letters and an emoji. Instead of liking this post or trying to comment instead write what he or his music ment to you and post something yourself. To me he inspired me to always do good, follow your passion, and live life my way, also he inspired my music a lot, melodies, chords, the song Freedom was basically me trying to emulate him being in the studio next to me, when he played it I was so happy, and ofcourse all the times in vegas and a lot of other times, future music fest, new zealand and more and more. Your music will live on forever and I’ll always live harder, be happier and chase further, thank you and I hope you’re in a better place now.
Just can’t believe this, I’m gonna miss you so bad. From your first show where we played together, to all the amazing memories we shared. Thank you for changing the world with your amazing music. Thank you for being such an inspiration. I hope you’re in a better place right now. I’m gonna miss you brother, until we meet again! ?
Dear Tim, I can’t believe what I just heard, you have gone way to early, there are no words to describe how I feel now, I am thankful for all the great moments we got to spent together; and thankful for all the things I got to learn from you. The world will miss you. I hope you find peace now ❤️ ~ R.I.P Avicii
