DJ 69Beats is a Polish DJ with a lot of skill. This year he was Red Bull Thre3style’s winner out of Europe and today he has a few tips and tricks for you when on the turntables.
DJ 69Beats is here to teach you how to perform a Single Cue point pitch play, with the tech Traktor and a piano controller. After he won the Red Bull Thre3style competition Poland Finals back in May, many fans finally started to “Put some Respek” on his name and gave him the lime light on the technique he has perfected for years.
Back in 2010, DJ Rafik was one of the first pioneers when it came to explain the methods of tone playing. In the video, 69Beats goes into how difficult and “impossible” it is to play different types of melodies with traditional DJ controllers because of the limited pads on the system. Also, many songs are never in the same key which also added to the difficulty, then you end up with scrabbled tone play routines and become that awful DJ at the club.
With Serato DJ and the addition of Pitch n Time plug ins, this technique can also be done. But, enough of me talking about it, just watch the mad scientist got to work.
